Our skin cancer clinic is a specialised clinic staffed by highly trained skin cancer doctors and nurses, and fitted with the latest technology to assist diagnosis and treatment including MoleMax HD mole photography.
More than 3,600 people are diagnosed with melanoma in Queensland each year. Unfortunately our skin cancer rates are the highest in Australia, and along with New Zealand, are the highest rates in the world.
Prevention is vitally important - and so is regular surveillance and early detection and treatment.
When did you last have a skin cancer check?
Ask your doctor about your own level of risk and for advice on early detection. Get into a routine of checking your skin for new spots and changes to existing freckles or moles.
We cannot afford to forget sun protection– its never too late to prevent further damage.

Dr Emma Proudman (M.B.B.S. F.R.A.C.G.P)
Dr Emma Proudman is a very experienced skin medicine doctor and is a Fellow of the Skin Cancer Institute.
She is also a member of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia and the International Dermoscopy Society.
She is proficient in all aspects of diagnosis and management including full skin examinations, skin photography and dermoscopy, biopsies, and surgical procedures for skin cancer management.
Appointments
We request that patients ring (07) 5580 6677 to make their skin clinic appointments. This is to ensure that our staff can allocate the correct time with the doctor.
Different times are allocated for full skin examinations, spot checks, and follow-ups. Procedures and dressings are booked at the direction of the skin cancer doctor.
Fees
The doctors are independent practitioners who set their own individual fee rates and when those fee rates apply. Some of the doctors bulk bill pensioners, health
care card holders and children aged < 16years.
The out of pocket expense will depend on the service or procedure.
